How Cross-Connect Works
Imagine Company ABC a Forex Brokerage who has its trading platform servers within a data center. It frequently interacts with Company XYZ (Bridge Technology Provider), exchanging real-time transactional data for trading and price feed purposes.
Company XYZ also has its infrastructure hosted in the same data center. Although the two companies could share this data over the public Internet, a direct physical connection—known as a cross connect—provides a significantly better alternative. This private link, typically made using fiber, enables faster, more secure, and more reliable communication between the two environments.
